"Tommy è uno di quegli album che è molto più di un album, Tommy è stato l’evento che rese gli Who un gruppo tanto popolare quanto i Beatles o gli Stones. A quell’epoca il disco fu considerato come la prima Opera Rock della storia ed ebbe un enorme impatto sui loro contemporanei…forse non era del tutto vero, ma fu l'album che meglio esemplificò il concetto trasformando Pete Townshend e compagni nella più grande e inarrestabile forza rock dal vivo."
